Returns and Exchanges

U.S. orders may be returned or exchanged up to 30 days from date the package was shipped. Returns must be in new condition, unworn and free of damages – a quick try on is cool, a float down the river, or a sweaty hike is less cool. 

Orders must be returned or exchanged in original packaging or utilize packaging that can safely accommodate the size of item(s) being returned. Item(s) damaged due to improper packaging will not be eligible for a refund.  With the exception of beanies, improper packaging for hats includes envelopes, poly mailers, bags and/or standard cardboard boxes that do not accommodate the size of the item(s) being returned.

All discounted sale items are final sale and not eligible for returns or exchanges. We currently do not accept returns for international orders.

Returns

To start your return, click HERE.

  1. Enter your order number and zip code or email address.
  2. Select the item(s) you’re sending back and select reason for return (final sale items not eligible).
  3. Select ‘Exchange for a different item or process refund’.
  4. Select ‘Refund me (refund amount) directly’.
  5. Choose ‘Refund to store credit’ or ‘Refund to original payment method’.
  6. Select ‘Submit’.
  7. Print your return label and packing slip, and mail back the original item(s).
  8. Once we receive your return, we’ll refund you for the purchase price of the item(s). Original shipping charges are not eligible for refunds and a $5 restocking fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

*If you choose ‘Refund to store credit’, the $5 restocking fee will be waived.

Exchanges

To start your exchange, click here.

  1. Enter your order number and zip code or email address.
  2. Select the item(s) you’re sending back and select reason for return (final sale items not eligible).
  3. If you would like to exchange for a different size, select ‘Exchange for a different size’ and proceed to step #7.
  4. If you would like to exchange for a different item, select ‘Exchange for a different item or process refund”.  Then, select ‘Shop now with (refund amount)’.  You will be redirected to our website where you can select a new item(s).
  5. Add the new item(s) to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  6. If you select a new item(s) that is of lesser value than the original item(s) purchased, we’ll refund the balance back to your original payment method or store credit, once we receive your original item(s). If you select a new item(s) that is of greater value than the original item(s) purchased, you’ll be prompted to pay the remaining balance owed.
  7. If you don’t need your new item(s) right away, select ‘Submit’ and proceed to step #9. Your new item(s) will be shipped once your original item(s) has been returned to our warehouse. (Note: this option does not guarantee that the new item will be in stock by the time we receive your return).
  8. If you would like your new item(s) to be sent immediately, please select the ‘Instant exchange’ option, and ‘Submit’.  You will then be asked to enter your card information and a $1.00 temporary hold will be placed on your card for 7 days.  You’ll only be charged for the new item(s) if your return shipment isn’t received within 27 days of the exchange request. 
  9. Print your return label and packing slip, and mail back the original item(s).

Issue with an order

If you received the wrong item(s), missing an item(s), item(s) damaged due to transit, or believe your item(s) has a manufacturer defect, please email us with your order number and a photo so we can better assist. 

Refunds

Processing time:

April to August: please allow 10 business days for refunds and exchanges to be processed. 

September to March: please allow 5 business days for refunds and exchanges to be processed. 

Once approved, we’ll refund you for the purchase price of the item(s) back to your original payment method.  Original shipping charges are not eligible for refunds and an $5 restocking fee will be deducted from the refund amount. 

Please allow up to seven days for the credit to appear on your statement. 

Cancellations  

Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel an order after the order has been placed. If you no longer wish to receive your item, please review our return policy, and start your return, click HERE.

Third Party Sellers

If you purchased your item from a third-party seller or retail store, please contact them directly for questions and concerns regarding returns or exchanges.

Our retailers have their own return or warranty policies, and we do our best not to infringe on their business.

Warranty

Hemlock Hat Co guarantees warranty support for manufacturer defects at company discretion for 6 months from the date of purchase.  Warranty excludes product altered after purchase, damage caused by normal wear, and damage caused by improper use or storage.  Warranty is void without valid proof of purchase from hemlockhatco.com. 

Hemlock is not liable for any physical damages, incidental or consequential, due to the improper use and wear of your product and will not be accepted under warranty.  Hemlock does not cover warranty for item(s) that are lost or stolen. 

If you believe the above reasons do not exclude you from our warranty, please  email us with your order number and a photo so we can better assist.
