October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
A time to honor survivors, support those in treatment, and push for life-saving research. At Hemlock, we’re using our brims to make a difference.
The Pink Brim Project is our way of raising awareness, sparking conversations, and rallying our community to join the fight. This October, we’re walking, donating, and spreading the word — because together, we can throw some serious shade at breast cancer.
From October 1-31, Hemlock is donating $2 for every Pink Brim Hat & $1 for every other style sold on hemlockhatco.com. Every dollar benefits the American Cancer Society®, driving progress in breast cancer research, patient support, and early detection programs.
The American Cancer Society® does not endorse any service or product.

Survivor Spotlight
Yasmin's Story
“I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2018 at just 31 years old. I found it by accident — while taking off my bra, I felt a lump that didn’t belong there. My immediate reaction was to seek medical attention, and thank God I did.
Today, I’m proud to say I’m celebrating 7 years cancer-free”.
Her Moment of Hope:
“My first real sense of hope came when I attended a retreat for young breast cancer patients like me. Being surrounded by women who understood what I was going through made me feel validated and less alone—it was life-changing.”
What Breast Cancer Taught Her:
“It taught me to live in the moment. Tomorrow isn’t promised, so don’t wait to do the things that matter most.”
Why Yasmin Walks:
“I want to bring awareness to young women in our community. This disease is becoming more prevalent among younger populations—and we can’t overlook that. Supporting Making Strides means supporting early detection, education, and hope.”
Why We're Doing This
Hemlock was founded by husband-and-wife team Lauren and Anthony Lora. Like so many others, they have close friends and family who’ve faced breast cancer — a powerful reminder that this fight touches nearly everyone.
Lauren’s passion began at Texas Tech University as a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, whose national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness. Today, Lauren and Anthony both serve on the American Cancer Society Board of Directors, and Lauren is part of the Making Strides San Diego Women’s Council.
This October, the Hemlock crew is putting our brims to work: raising awareness, fueling research, and showing up for everyone touched by breast cancer.
